Small Ecosystem Koi Pond with stone bridge and stream
Location: Great Gaddesden, Hertfordshire
Project Type: Small Ecosystem Koi Pond
Designed & created by Daniel Windley
In a beautiful Hertfordshire cottage, we fulfilled our clients’ wish for the soft sound of running water—where they could sit with their dog and a cup of tea—by designing and creating a small ecosystem pond and stream for Koi, complete with rocks, gravel, and aquatic plants.
A year or so later, with the plants and aquatic plants maturing beautifully, we returned to extend the pond stream and add a stone bridge.
We love the results, which get better as the years go by, and which demonstrate that regardless of the size of a property, a Brit Ponds bespoke water feature can add beauty and ambience to all.
This stunning picture postcard English country cottage water feature remains one of our favourites to visit.
“There are so many positives I am not sure I’ll have enough space. Our pond is beautiful and everything we could wish for. It is calming and serene. Daniel is a true craftsman and his passion and love for his work is obvious in his creations. He took a tired area and made it into a natural ecopond beautiful designed with plants and natural materials. He was professional, knowledgeable, quick and tidy. Highly recommend.”
